For many years I was carrying the idea of writing down my songs in a book piano. It took a while and I'm so happy and proud that i finally finished this project. So far I transcribed 29 songs, and Mertola is one of them. If you like my music, you can order the Piano Book here.

Dusk is a completely improvised, first-take jazz piece. Over a meditative synth-drone backdrop Sebastian Studintzky’s trumpet – played with a mute and hence sounding crisp – makes a mystical and heavenly appearance. Like some sort of messiah delivering an important omen, the listener is taken aback in awe, hypnotized by each and every of the trumpet’s scattered lines.

Some years ago I performed in northern Russia in Petrozavodsk. After the concert we met some cool locals - artists and musicians. We stayed in touch and I asked them if they would shoot some vibes from their place and life. Thats how the idea for this video was born. Thanks to Alexandra & Nikita Grib!

Multi-instrumentalist and Echo prize winner Sebastian Studnitzky is a magician on the piano and saxophone who knows how to masterfully combine unpretentious, complex melodies with a deeply emotional minimalism. Everything is deliberately condensed with electronic elements. This song is based on an iconic piano melody on top of a strong synth beat. Its the first collaboration with the French producer Joachim Olaya. It was a beautiful experience to give away my music for mixing and receiving a result that sounded more fascinating than in my dreams.

When the first covid lockdown happened in late march 2020, the vibe in Berlin was so scary and magic in the same time. I spend a lot of time on my bike cruising through the empty city at night. This Piano solo song I composed right in the 2nd week of the lockdown and its describing this certain fear of feeling so fragile whilst feeling this magic vibe of a collective break. The video is filmed on an iPhone. I was in a complete DoItMyself period in my creative cave.

Breath is a very emotional song, that I based on few minimal piano chord progression. I whistled the melody and later added some trumpet lines. I like the deep and calm vibe of this track. The video was shot with minimal equipment on my favorite lake close to berlin. I love swimming to clear my mind.

The track "Prophet" combines a dark analog synth arpeggiator with Moroccan voodoo rhythms whilst a rural trumpet flies on the top of it. The music video for it I created myself, experimenting with minimal visuals and distorting and feedbacking filters.

"Auriel" is the first single from my new album which will be released in Autumn on XJAZZ music.
All the instruments that appear in the song I play myself (piano, analog synths, beats, moroccan drums) and I even sang a bit.

This album is a centerpiece of my work. Together with a chamber orchestra (Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester), conducted by Sebastian Tewinkel I made my dream come true. Since early childhood i love the sound of a string orchestra and I always wanted to combine that with my songs and improvised elements.

We recorded that album in Portugal (Alentejo) in a house on a cliff right next to the atlantic ocean. The instruments were set up in the living room and i think you can hear this special vibe of salty air, sunsets, rough cliffs and waves in this music
